Spider was founded by mutual friends Jessica Winterstein (vocals), Rob Bradley (guitars) and Joe Ruddy RIP 1976-2008 (bass). All friends since their teens, the band come together as and when. Although have inactive for the last few years, a cover was recorded for Twenty Stories Below, A Blind Melon Tribute Album - released in 2007 through the yakmusic label. A handful of well received shows with a full line-up ended in the summer of 2005, and since the loss of bassist Joe Ruddy in 2008, the band currently consist of Jessica and Rob as an acoustic duo.

"...beautifully played and beautifully sung. I think this is the best sounding recording on the album. I feel like I just took a valium. Slowing down the song like this did something cool to it with the main guitar riff. Jessica did some cool harmony stuff.....the harmonies on the original kinda bend the ear, and she got that spot on. I want to steal some of the guitar things that Rob did on this.....this is another song we never did live. Like the acoustic bit in the left speaker at the very end. Rob is a very good guitar player and I also like his drumming on here with all the inside snare stuff.....very cool. Turn the bass up. " Mouthfull of Cavities - by Spider.
